Samsung Ushers in a New Era for Micro LED Technology – Samsung Newsroom UK

On the occasion of Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2022, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. unveiled the future of Micro LED technology with its new models of The Wall.

“Micro LED technology will define the future of display innovation. From the luxury industry, to hospitality, to the travel sector, the potential of the Micro LED is limitless,” said Hyesung Ha, executive vice president of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “ISE is the largest show of its kind in the world, and we are proud to have unveiled our new The Wall range. The next-generation technology it embeds will deliver benefits beyond expectation, transforming any business and unlocking new opportunities. »

The Wall 2022: the smallest pixel pitch never reached

Samsung introduced the 2022 release of The Wall (model name: IWB), an innovative modular Micro LED display that delivers an immersive viewing experience on large, high-resolution screens. The IWB will be available with a pixel pitch (the spacing between two pixels) of 0.63 or 0.94; 0.63 being the smallest ground never offered on The Wall range. The IWB will be available at the end of the year.

the ground Extremely thin IWB enables Samsung to display the most lifelike image as well as optimum picture quality, enhanced by the display’s 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10/10+ and LED technologies HDR. The Wall is available in a wide variety of screen sizes, with 4K resolution for the 110” and up to 8K for the 220”, thus meeting the expectations of all users and the needs of professionals. This exceptional resolution is made possible by the powerful Micro AI (Artificial Intelligence) processor, which analyzes the content at every moment to optimize the quality of the image while removing noise in the image.

The size of the panels that make up the screen has been increased. It is now enough to assemble 4 of them to have a UHD screen, which reduces the time and cost of installation. The optimized screens have the mechanical qualities of high-resolution screens for exceptional immersion. Reduced installation time offers significant benefits to professionals compared to conventional LED display.

The Wall is also equipped with state-of-the-art technologies. The Multi View function allows simultaneous playback of several sources (up to four), on the same screen, without the need for any additional splitter for the display of dynamic content. In-screen Black Seal technology delivers purer black levels as well as a unique protective coating to achieve recorded contrast levels even in bright environments. Finally, thanks to 20-bit processing, The Wall delivers exceptional image quality and a smooth visual experience, backed by a peak at 2,000 nits, for vibrant images.

The Wall All-in-One: an innovative and practical installation

Also unveiled at ISE 2022, The Wall All-in-One (model name: IAB) is available in three versions: 4K 146”, FHD 146” and FHD 110”. In addition to the visual experience, this incredible next-generation display revolutionizes the installation process. The standard resolution of The Wall All-in-One is 16:9. Already available for sale, the screen is only used as a whole, the panels are not sold separately.

The major innovation brought by The Wall All-in-One lies in its installation, now as simple as that of a conventional television, thanks to pre-assembled and pre-wired frames. The screen also comes with a frame and an integrated S-box media player.

The Wall All-in-One offers a refined design, with its ultra-thin screen, only 49 mm thick (i.e. 59 mm in total once installed on the wall[1]). This slim, bezel-less design offers direct-to-screen connectivity, without the need for a separate device for a sleeker setup.

In addition, thanks to 20-bit processing, Black Seal technology and the Micro AI processor, it is possible to install two 146″ 4K displays side by side to create a 32:9 aspect ratio model, with the possibility of separate them, thus an entire wall with exceptional image quality.

A range of versatile displays adapting to a new era: from electric vehicle charging stations to hybrid classrooms

In addition to these models incorporating Micro LED technology, Samsung is presenting several screens that meet new needs. They illustrate the constant innovation demonstrated by Samsung to develop new solutions, particularly in terms of contactless communication and improved security features.

Samsung’s 2022 range of outdoor displays consists of the OHA 55″ and OHA 75″. Its outdoor visibility has been certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). It also ensures simplified installation thanks to its thinness, and long-term performance thanks to its IP65 certification. Made of strong, high-performance materials, the OHA 55″ and OHA 75″ can perform in a wide variety of conditions and situations. This is particularly the case for electric vehicle charging stations.

In education, Samsung continues to deliver hybrid learning experiences through its innovative products and solutions. The new Flip Pro 2022 (titled WMB version 4), available in two large sizes of 75” and 85”, is an interactive whiteboard aimed at both the education and business worlds.
