2022 Smart Signage range receives first industry certifications
Ahead of the ISE show in Barcelona, Samsung announced today that it has received several awards for developing and implementing more environmentally friendly processes and initiatives. Samsung improves the entire product lifecycle, from development to packaging and even lifespan, from an environmental perspective. Consequently, the carbon footprint of its product portfolio has been reduced.
Samsung operates under the “Together for Tomorrow” vision. With this in mind, the company has increased the use of recycled materials in the production of monitors and digital signage products. Reducing waste and reusing resources reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
Samsung’s digital signage solutions, such as Smart Signage 2022, feature certified energy efficiency ratings. These raise the prevailing standard in the industry. In addition, since 2021, Samsung has been using greener packaging, made from recycled materials, for all its signage products.
Using a System on Chip (SoC) solution, Samsung lets you play content on monitors and signage products without the need for additional devices. In doing so, the company saves waste and energy. And by extending the life of products, it further reduces waste.
In recognition of its environmental efforts, Samsung has received an ENERGY STAR certification. Additionally, the brand has received EPEAT (Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool) certification for enhanced improvements to energy efficiency and the use of recycled plastic in the 2022 Smart Signage lineup (QHB, QMB and QBB).
Samsung was also the first company in the industry to receive the Carbon Trust’s CO2 emissions reduction label for its LCD Signage (LH55QHB), LED Signage (LH012IWA) and Business Monitor (LS34A65) range. Additionally, Samsung has developed and implemented a new material made from ocean-sourced plastic, which is now used as a high-performance component in the S8 2022 high-resolution monitor.
In recognition of its global commitment to environmental sustainability, Samsung was named the winner of “Sustainability Innovation of the Year” at the May 10 AV News Awards.
Samsung’s stand at ISE 2022, which runs May 10-14 in Barcelona, is located at Gran Via, Hall 3, 3F600. For more information on Samsung’s latest display technology, visit https://displaysolutions.samsung.com/showcase/virtual-experience/ise-2022.
