Samsung Galaxy S21: still an interesting model despite the Galaxy S22!

From one generation to another, high-end smartphones evolve very subtly, mainly non-Pro or Ultra models. This is indeed the case with Samsung smartphones. If you want to buy a new “Galaxy S” model, be aware that the S21 and S22 have very few differences. As a result, the generation released in 2021 is still interesting, and above all more affordable, than the last one unveiled in February 2022. Discover in our article the various elements that could tip the scales for the Galaxy S21.

A Samsung Galaxy S21 always interesting to buy!

Announced in January 2021, the Galaxy S21 is still a well-equipped smartphone for 2022, despite the launch of the Galaxy S22 earlier this year. Indeed, very few changes differentiate the two models. First of all, the pattern is the same, just like thescreen 6.1-inch Full HD + AMOLED with an adaptive refresh rate of 10 to 120 Hz and a definition of 2400 x 1080 pixels. We note, however, that the maximum brightness is less noticeable on the S21 (1300 nits) compared to the S22 (1500 nits), a noticeable difference only in strong light exposure outdoors.

At the level of power, the Galaxy S22 is entitled to an Exynos 2200 chip engraved in 4 mm, against an Exynos 2100 for the S21. This change notably justifies better energy management for the most recent model, but for equivalent equivalent performance, even if it is logically superior on the most recent model. Indeed, the frequency of the cores of these SoCs is very close, as is the configuration of the latter (octo-core with a very powerful core, three fairly powerful cores and four energy-efficient cores).

Side autonomy, the Galaxy S21 a larger battery than the Galaxy S22, 4,000 mAh against 3,700 mAh. The charging power, however, is the same: 25W wired, 15W wireless, and 4.5W reverse charging. photo of the S21 is still very good, in particular thanks to its 12 Mpx main sensor, its 64 Mpx telephoto lens and its 12 Mpx ultra wide-angle. The advantages of the S22 are a 50MP main sensor as well as a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.

In conclusion, the Galaxy S21 is still a safe bet, a high-performance and well-equipped high-end smartphone. The Galaxy S22 generation is a great evolution, and moreover has the advantage of being at the same launch price as the S21, i.e. 859 €. However, the S21 has the advantage of being much more affordable today, especially on sites selling refurbished products. We found it for example on Back Market from 527 € in its version with 128 GB of internal storage.
