While smartphones still do not have OLED screens with a refresh rate of 240 Hz, Samsung Display has just presented a new OLED panel for laptops with such a frequency at Display Week 2022. So we are far from 90 Hz of the current OLED panels from the Korean manufacturer. In addition to offering an extraordinary frequency, Samsung’s new screen has other interesting characteristics.

We find for example the coverage of a wide range of colors and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision standards. As a reminder, Dolby Vision is a technology used by Netflix or even Disney+ has improved the quality of the image, but this is not supported by any Samsung devicestill reluctant to adopt it, even though it uses panels provided by Samsung Display. The brightness is quite low since it is limited to 400 nitsbut the high contrast should still allow the panel to offer good visibility in all conditions.
