At the beginning of the week, we noticed with astonishment that the withdrawal dates for games from the PC Game Pass were now appearing on the Microsoft Store. Thus, we could discover that many games were about to leave the service, such as Yakuza 3 Remastered, Yakuza 4 Remastered, Yakuza 5 Remastered, A Plague Tale: Innocence or Control. However, this is not the case!
Xbox Game Pass: the withdrawal dates of certain titles revealed on the Store?
Should Microsoft Store withdrawal dates be trusted?
Despite the departures of big games announced for January 31, official information from Xbox completely contradicts these dates. Indeed, only the following games will leave the PC Game Pass at the end of the month:
- Nowhere Prophet (Xbox Console and PC)
- Xeno Crisis (Xbox Console and PC)
- Cyber Shadow (Xbox Console and PC)
- Prison Architect (PC)
Should we then trust what is indicated on the Microsoft Store? As it stands, we only advise you to rely on what is announced by Microsoft in its press releases, or the Xbox Game Pass application on smartphones, or the Xbox application on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
It is nevertheless interesting to note that for the 4 withdrawals named above, the indication on the Microsoft Store corresponds to what is announced by the manufacturer. It’s a safe bet that this feature will be refined to no longer display errors as is the case with Yakuza 3 Remastered, Yakuza 4 Remastered, Yakuza 5 Remastered, A Plague Tale: Innocence or Control.
At the moment, the withdrawal date only appears on the Microsoft Store PC and therefore only concerns the PC Game Pass. Hopefully the Microsoft Store console can benefit from this so we know the start dates for Xbox Game Pass games, although some games in both the PC Game Pass and the console service are already giving us a reliable indication.
