LineageOS 19 (Android 12) is available for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e

Diffusion open-source LineageOS 19 allows Android smartphones and tablets that are no longer susceptible to updates to play the extensions by benefiting from the latest version of the Google OS and security patches.

Good news for owners of a Galaxy Tab S5e who will be able, if they wish, to take advantage of the latest Android 12 update. Indeed, LineageOS 19 is now available for the Samsung tablet which, despite its “seniority “all relative, is still to this day an excellent product from which we have retained the quality of the 10.5-inch Oled screen, the performance and the autonomy.
Formerly CyanogenMod, LineageOS is an operating system open-source which has its roots inAndroid Open Source Project (AOSP) maintained by Google to provide manufacturers and developers with the information and tools needed to create custom variants of the OS. In this case, LineageOS 19 comes from the AOSP version of Android 12 which is similar to the “pure” OS as found on Pixel 6 smartphones.

40 Android smartphones and tablets can install LineageOS 19

LineageOS lists 40 smartphones and tablets eligible for its latest update. Asus, Google, Lenovo, Motorola, Nokia, OnePlus, Sony Xiaomi and Samsung models, including the Galaxy Tab S5e and the Galaxy S10 and Note 10, are affected. In other words, this is an opportunity to give a facelift free of charge to a terminal that is still perfectly functional but outdated from a software point of view. Apart from the new features of Android 12, LineageOS 19 also brings the latest security patches. A very good way to counter planned obsolescence and promote more sustainable consumption.
