Initially expected in 2021, the Huawei Mate 50 and 50 Pro will finally land in 2022. A company executive has confirmed this. In addition, the two future smartphones should ship HarmonyOS 3.0, the new version of the OS from the Shenzhen firm.
As you know, Huawei is trying hard to resist and survive the US sanctions. The year 2021 was marked by a vertiginous drop in the company’s turnover, which tumbled 28.9% in 2021. Of course, we hope for the brand that 2022 will be a better omen.
Anyway, the manufacturer does not disassemble and continues to launch ambitious and promising products, like this P50 Pocket, a foldable smartphone that could hurt the Galaxy Z Flip 3, its main competitor. And after launching the P50 and P50 Pro, his first smartphones under HarmonyOS, he was waiting for the brand to launch the Mate 50 and 50 Pro, the successors lead Mate 40 and 40 Pro.
Traditionally, Huawei launches its new Mates in the fall, but in the end, the Shenzhen firm would have been delighted. Faced with the difficulties caused by the pandemic and by the American sanctions, many analysts and leakers have assured that Huawei has chosen to postpone the presentation of the two smartphones in 2022. And even if we had not had official confirmation from the manufacturer, 2021 actually revealed itself without seeing the Mate 50 and 50 Pro.
Huawei confirms the arrival of Mate 50 in 2022
Nevertheless, the brand has come out of its silence. Indeed, Derek Yu, President of Huawei CBG in Central and Eastern Europe, Northern Europe and Canada, confirmed that the Mate 50 range will indeed be introduced in 2022 worldwide. In addition, the executive clarified that future smartphones will ship HarmonyOS. Moreover, there is a good chance that the Mate 50 and 50 Pro take advantage of the latest version of the in-house operating system.
Indeed and according to the latest rumors, Huawei should present HarmonyOS 3.0 in July 2022. A date that corresponds well to the Mate 50 release window, set in the second half of 2022. HarmonyOS 3.0 is already available in preview version for developers in China. According to initial feedback, the manufacturer’s innovations mainly concern three: system architecture, the “Super Terminal” and the unique development of multi-terminal deployment.
