In the midst of multiple advertisements, sponsored posts and messages from casual acquaintances, you may want to sort through without unsubscribing, thus giving priority to your family or close friends.
Configure the “Favorites” function
The network offers you to use the function “Favorite”, which allows you to prioritize the publications of the accounts you want. These will show up first in the News Feed on your homepage. To access it, it’s very simple:
- Log in to your Facebook account from your computer. On your profile page, expand the content of the left column by clicking on the option “See more”. From there, displayed to your favorites by clicking on the option “Favorite” illustrated with a star.
- Access the settings of your favorite profiles by clicking on the “Manage favorites” box. From the drop-down menu, select the first option in the list, which has the same name and is also illustrated with a star.
- Your Facebook friends list will then open in the following menu. On it, find the contacts you want to highlight and click on the star to the right of their profile. Here they are now listed among your favorites, their publications will therefore be displayed in priority in your feed.
- Conversely, if you want to remove a contact from your favorites list, repeat the operation; this time you just have to uncheck the highlighted star.
If your contact list is very long, you can find your Facebook friend directly by typing the name of their profile in the search bar of the menu “Favorites”. Next to this search bar, a drop-down menu allows you to differentiate personal profiles, you are subscribed, from thematic Pages. Note that you can count a maximum of thirty favorites among your contacts.
