A totally redesigned Motorola Razr 2022 that looked more like a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3

We know little about it, but the Motorola brand has been offering a foldable smartphone for 2 years now. If the commercial ground is largely occupied by Samsung’s two foldable mobiles, the new Razr could be directly inspired by one of the two, the Galaxy Z Flip3. Here are all the details.

Currently there are several foldable smartphones available on the market and Samsung largely dominate the subject with an estimated market share of nearly 88%. Motorola was one of the first companies to offer a foldable smartphone but it didn’t really find its audience perhaps because of too much precocity and a price that doesn’t help. There are two Motorola Razr mobiles, the Razr 2019 and the Razr 5G 2020 but since then nothing. That may soon change with Motorola’s new foldable smartphone, the 2022 Razr.

Once again, it’s tipster Evan Blass @OnLeaks who thinks he knows that Motorola’s next foldable phone could prove to be a formidable competitor for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 and its successor, the Galaxy Z Flip4. Indeed, the Motorola Razr 2022 which bears the code name Maven could have a nice technical sheet and offer a format that is closer to the current Galaxy Z Flip3 rather than continuing to follow the original shape of the flip smartphone. Motorola Razr. Its design would be more square and its fingerprint reader could be found on the side, as on the Samsung mobile. Still according to the same source, the future Motorola Razr 2022 would ship a 50 megapixel sensor against a single 48 megapixel one for the latest which could be accompanied by a second 13 megapixel sensor capable of managing photos in ultra mode wide-angle and macro shots. There would also be a photo sensor for selfies which would have 32 megapixels instead of the current model which has 20 megapixels.

The next Motorola Razr “Maven” foldable smartphone would have an internal screen with a definition of 1080×2400 pixels and it could be powered by a Qualcomm processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 like the most high-end models currently available. There is a rumor that there could be another version of the device with the boosted version of the chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus, but whose output is compensated. There would be versions with 8 or 12 GB inside anyway, depending on the configuration chosen with storage options of 256 or 512 GB. Sources believe that the Motorola Razr 2022 “Maven” or Razr 3 could be formalized towards the end of July or the beginning of August, at least for the Chinese market. Marketing would be affected for other countries at a later date. It remains to know the price and it will have to be as soft as possible if it wants to try to really compete with Samsung.
